Her recent public works include large-scale murals and installations across Charlotte, NC; Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA; New York City, NY; Detroit, MI; Costa Rica; Champagne, IL; and Dallas, TX. Notable commissions include the World Trade Center (NYC), the Harvey B. Gantt Center (Charlotte), UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Information and Library Science, the City of Boston Public Art Commission, the City of Raleigh Public Art Commission, Winston-Salem Public Art Commission, Mecklenburg County Public Art Commission, Winston-Salem State University, The Mint Museum, Coachella, AT&T, and the Ackland Museum of Art.
The Journey
Using patterns, texture, and textiles, her goal is to transform the basics of portrait work and identity into a deeper dialogue of imagination and evolution. Georgie is a recipient of awards and grants from the Knight Foundation, Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, Charlotte’s Placemaking Program, and the Arts & Science Council. She has collaborated with national and global brands including Xbox, 2K Foundations, Ford, and Hornitos, and participated in public art initiatives led by organizations such as the Creative League of Interventionists. She was accepted into the Otis College of Art and Design Residency and has also held fellowships with C3 Lab’s Public Art Fellowship and the Black Carolina Residency at the Harvey B. Gantt Center.
Through each project, Georgie weaves cultural memory with the transformative power of storytelling, inviting deeper connection and collective reflection.
